Hello,
I’m Rob Gartland, 20, a BA (Hons) Live Events
and Television Production student at the University of the Arts London.
Originally from Whitley Bay, Newcastle, I have more recently moved to Central London to continue my academic studies and professional freelance projects.
Throughout both my academic and day to day life I’ve always felt highly passionate about the worlds of Visual Media and Event Management. Whether that’s from organising a range of events during my time in education, to filming and editing a range of moving image pieces as academic or freelance work.
As part of my course I have been able to gain a wide range of skills including woodwork, stage design, live studio filming, lighting, sound and video editing to just name a few. Currently a 2nd year student, I have been able to grow in my skill set and gain a wide range of professional working practice advice, allowing me to go out and being freelancing.
I also had the amazing opportunity to be chosen as one of 16 Social Representative at the University of the Arts London within my first year at university. Having previously worked in an Events Management firm within the north east, ‘Made to Treasure’, this role allowed me to run weekly, celebratory and festive based events to over 250+ students within my halls of residence. Along with one off events that took place all over London including Thames Boat Parties, Harry Potter Walking Tours and welcome events within the Student Union. This role really allowed me to use my University Course and apply it to the real working world.
Across this online platform I hope to showcase the work I’ve created in the early stages of my career, whether freelance, solo projects or as part of a team.
Feel free to contact me for any further info or questions and thanks for taking the time to check out my site!
